Private Nature Reserve Network

There are more than 200 privately owned nature reserves registered within the county, accounting for over 2000 acres of land. They include ponds, streams, lakes, meadows, hedgerows, orchards and woods within every kind of Somerset’s terrain. In size they range from rolling acres to the corner of a field. Our membership includes landowners, smallholders, members of local woodland trusts and groups who own land collectively. What we have in common is that our priority is wildlife.
