We look forward to seeing you there!

We look forward to welcoming you to our 60th Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Members’ Day in Wells on Saturday 9th November 2024. We hope many of you will join us in person but understand some members may prefer to join us virtually and because of this we will be live streaming our event again this year.

The AGM will be held from 11am until 1pm, and is open only for current members of Somerset Wildlife Trust in-person or online. The Members’ Day consisting of the AGM, buffet lunch, panel talks and afternoon tea is £15 (includes booking fee). Members are very welcome to invite a guest to the afternoon talks that start at 2pm. The price for your guest to join us in person which includes just afternoon tea is £15 (excludes booking fee).

Afternoon

Members' Day

“Ecosystem Restoration: Do we need to choose between food, wildlife and people?”

Restoring ecosystems has been a staple part of conservation conversations for decades and together, with more recent conversations about wilding, has driven ambitious nature recovery projects all over the UK and in Somerset. With these new projects come new questions for consideration; the effect of removing land from food production; the impact of reintroduced species on communities; and the effect of wilding on our existing rare habitats and species.

Confirmed Speakers
Stan Smith - Royal Society of Wildlife Trusts
Tom Appleby - Blue Marine Foundation
Holly Purdey - Somerset Wildlife Trust
