About the event

Join the Wilder Churches team from Somerset Wildlife Trust and the Diocese of Bath and Wells to find out more about Wilder Churches and how to take your first steps. Wilder Churches is a joint initiative that has been supporting communities to make space for nature in their local churchyard, other church land or burial ground since March 2021.

With a recent call from Bishop Michael for churches across the county to get involved, we are running a refresh of our previous training sessions. Anyone and everyone is welcome, whether this is the first time you’ve heard about Wilder Churches or time has flown by and you would appreciate a refresh, we’d love to have you!

This first session will introduce the initiative and provide ideas, advice and inspiration to support your first steps. This will include how to get to know the existing value of the space for nature, and just as importantly who to talk to first, and how to involve or gain feedback from your community.

The last part of the session will include a Q&A with the team, where you can ask a question, seek advice or share your own experience.

We will also be running this session on 8th April 2025 to provide an opportunity to join us during the day/evening, hopefully providing a time that’s convenient for all. It will be the same session so you don’t have to attend both.
