Bloomin' Brilliant BioBlitz - Beautiful badgers
Northover, Glastonbury, BA6 9FT
About the event
Meet in the Events Space at the Red Brick Building, Glastonbury where a volunteer will take you to the survey site. You will then spend an hour with Somerset Wildlife Trust Consultancy learning about badgers and looking for their field signs. You will then be taken back to the Red Brick Building in time to join another survey (numbers are limited so please book each event separately) or the Wellbeing Nature Walk.
Alternatively, you are welcome to come and go from the Events Space at your leisure. Staff from the SWT Wilder Wellbeing project will be onsite to talk all things nature connections and nature-based wellbeing, with some simple activities you can try on the day. There will also be other drop in craft activities, local organisations you can speak with about climate change mitigation and adaptation, and short docu-film screenings. Or you could just rest or refuel at The Old Tannery!
Please check out the full itinerary for more details. We may be adding to this so do keep checking back!
The event has been organised by Somerset Wildlife Trust with grateful thanks to South West Heritage Trust and Friends of Brides Mound for access to their land for the surveys, and the survey leads, organisations and volunteers who have donated their time and expertise. It is part of the Glastonbury Town Deal, which is funded by the UK Government's Towns Fund scheme, and Somerset Wildlife Trust’s Bogs and Bitterns project, which is funded by the UK Government's Species Survival Fund. The Species Survival Fund was developed by Defra and its Arm's-Length Bodies. It is being delivered by The National Lottery Heritage Fund in partnership with Natural England and the Environment Agency.
