About the event

Join us for walking talks through Horner’s temperate rainforest, creative writing by the riverside, an immersive sound story, woodland, water & wildlife activities and all-day minibeast fun.

A feast of woodland, water & wildlife activities in and around Horner Wood, West Somerset’s own temperate rainforest:

  • FREE Bookable butterfly walk, 1.30 – 3.30pm, with Ellie Wyatt of Butterfly Conservation: Horner Through a Butterfly’s Eyes. Take a walk with Ellie to explore the sunny spots of Horner village and Wood and discover why woodland management is crucial to one of Britain’s rarest butterfly species. Booking strongly advised.
  • FREE Bookable morning and afternoon walking talks with Angie Cruse, Plantlife’s Southwest Rainforest Advisor. For full details see entry for ‘Horner: the Rainforest on your Doorstep’ on the Somerset Wildlife Trust events page
  •
  • Two FREE Bookable events with author Ellen Wiles:

This is one of a series of events organised by West Somerset Wildways: part of Somerset Wildlife Trust’s Wilder Communities initiative. West Somerset Wildways is funded by the HPC Community Fund and the National Lottery Community Fund’s Climate Action Fund.
