Volunteer, meet staff and gain experience
There are several ways for those ages 12-24 years old to get involved in volunteering at Somerset Wildlife Trust, depending on your availability and interest.
Youth Forum
We are currently welcoming new members!
Are you a young person in Somerset who dreams of a greener, wilder future? The Youth Forum supports young people ages 12-24 to learn about wildlife, visit nature-rich places, get involved in the environmental politics of Somerset and have a voice within the charity. This group is supported to collectively decide how to spend their budget on workshops, activities and experiences.
Forum meetups are held every other month on a Saturday. The location moves around Somerset, and locations are flexible depending on where members of the forum are based.
If you would like to find out more about our Youth Forum, please email our Wilder Youth Officer Siân on sian.bentley@somersetwildlife.org. For updates on our youth work follow our youth Instagram, @wilderyouthswt.
Experience Days
We have a series of experience days throughout the year for those aged 12-24. Whether you'd like to spend a day on one of our reserves or give nature journaling a go, there's something for everyone.
All the details of upcoming events, including how to book, can be found on our events page. If you have any questions please get in touch by emailing Hannah, our Volunteering & Community Support Officer on hannah.paddison@somersetwildlife.org.
