About the event
Quants Wood is a wildlife-rich mosaic of woodland, grassland and heathland on a steep north facing slope of the Blackdown Hills. An essential part of its maintenance is cutting material to encourage the wildflowers on the woodland rides and cutting the bracken on the heathy area to prevent it outcompeting and shading out the other heathland plants, such as heather and bilberry.
Come and join us for a day of management and help us to conserve this amazing reserve for years to come!
This session is suitable for those between 15 and 24 years old. We do not expect parents or guardians to attend the session.
There will always be a member of staff or highly trained volunteer and first aider on site.
