About the event

Fional Elphick is coming to guid us through statutory designations, there benefits, limits and meaning. There will also be plenty of time to ask questoins during the session. Fiona is a senior ecologist at Wiltshire County Council in the Climate and Environment Service. She covers protection and enhancement of the natural environment. In her spare time she is a passionate photographer, bee keeper and singer.

Wilder Churches is a partnership initiative between Somerset Wildlife Trust and the Diocese of Bath and Wells. The initiative aims to support communities to get to know the wildlife in their local churchyard, other church land or burial ground and work together to find ways to increase the value of these special places for wildlife.

Anyone is welcome, whether they've been part of the initiative for years or are wondering where to start.
