A living gift in memory

Donating or fundraising for Somerset Wildlife Trust is a very special and meaningful way to remember a loved one – honouring their life and helping a cause close to their heart.

Traditionally we pay our respects to our departed loved ones through a gift of flowers. But instead of cut flowers, why not a meadow of wildflowers which continue to bloom year on year?

By donating or fundraising in aid of Somerset Wildlife in someone’s memory, you can help to protect our native wildflowers for years to come, from the orchids in our summer meadows to the English bluebells in our ancient woodlands.

We’re always incredibly touched and grateful to receive donations large or small, that will have a lasting impact for generations to come.

When I told my sister how much we had raised for Dad at his service, we knew he would have been happy. Dad spent all of his life in Somerset and was very passionate about the wildlife here. We wanted his family and friends to support a cause close to his heart that will continue to protect what Dad loved so much

What to do next

There are several ways to support Somerset Wildlife Trust in memory of someone.

Set up an online memorial page

Creating an online memorial page will allow you to create your own special tribute to your loved one, where you can share memories, thoughts and stories with family and friends. You can collect fundraising donations in their name, organise events, celebrate anniversaries – and much more. It’s simple, quick and free to set up, either via MuchLoved or JustGiving.

Speak to your Funeral Director about arranging a collection

Many people ask for donations to Somerset Wildlife Trust in lieu of flowers at funerals or memorials. If this is something you’re considering, we can help you.

We can provide you with special donation envelopes for your collection and we can help you set up an online tribute page dedicated to your loved one where people can donate online.

If you would like to talk to someone about holding a funeral collection and requesting materials please get in touch. Email fundraising@somersetwildlife.org or call Kate on 01823 652404
