Wilder School grounds AND students!
We believe that every child should have the opportunity to experience the joy of wildlife and wild places in their daily life. By ensuring people of all ages and backgrounds have access to, and education in, the natural world, we can improve mental and physical wellbeing, and safeguard the environment for the future.
Our education resources are free and available for you to use in your class room, youth club, Guides, Scouts or as part of home educating. We’d love to see how you get on so make sure you tag us, or send your photos and stories to teamwilder@somersetwildlife.org
All children need nature. Not just the ones whose parents appreciate nature. Not only those children of a certain economic class or culture or set of abilities. Every child.
Are you looking to make your school grounds more wildlife friendly?
If your school is interested in making their school grounds more wildlife friendly, we might be able to offer an advice visit from a member of our team.
Teacher training and professional development
Teachers and educators play a pivotal role in helping children from all backgrounds to experience nature. We offer training to help you incorporate wildlife into your lessons and curriculum linked activities, to support education and wellbeing.
